Fulbright travel grants

Dear students,

The Fulbright travel grant supports you in your studies at a US partner university as part of your exchange semester in the 2026/27 academic year. 

Requirements: 
- German citizenship
- Length of stay: min. 3.5 and max. 9 months
- BA and MA students

Scholarship benefits: 
- Participation in the Fulbright Welcome Weekend (17-19 April 206)
- Financing of transatlantic travel costs with a lump sum of €2,000
- Programme support from Fulbright Germany
- Admission to the Fulbright Germany network of scholarship holders and alumni

1.  Opportunities for young scientists

Are you planning a research stay in the USA as part of your doctoral studies? 
The Fulbright Doctoral Programme offers you the chance to receive a scholarship at a US university or scientific institution. 
Fulbright supports four- to six-month research projects at a US university or research institution, starting between 1 August and 31 December 2026. 
The scholarship covers living expenses in the USA with €2,400 per month. It offers health/accident insurance, free Fulbright J-1 visa sponsorship and membership in the renowned Fulbright network worldwide. 
Apply now by the deadline on 5 November 2025.

2. The Fulbright-Schuman Programme

The Fulbright-Schuman Programme is aimed at European students, academics and experts who wish to conduct research projects or teaching stays in the United States on topics related to the EU or transatlantic relations. EU citizens can now apply for grants lasting up to nine months until 1 December 2025.
An online information event will take place on 16 October 2025, 4:00 p.m.

Reference is also made to the Fulbright-NATO Security Studies Award, which is aimed at postdoctoral researchers, university lecturers and experts with a connection to security policy issues.

Scholarship for a master's degree in the USA

The Naumann-Etienne Foundation aims to support students at Dresden University of Technology in the fields of electrical engineering, computer engineering, industrial engineering, analytics, cybersecurity computer science and bioengineering.

The scholarship gives students the opportunity to complete a two-year master's degree at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, USA.

- Living allowance of USD 1,500 per month
- Full coverage of tuition fees
- Travel expenses reimbursement: up to USD 1,500 (return trip)

The scholarship is aimed at committed bachelor's degree graduates and master's students who would like to study full-time as graduate students at a US university for one or two semesters starting in late summer 2026.

The application deadline is 2 September 2025 at 11:59 p.m.

Konnichiwa, Kyoto!

The GSW department is offering three exchange places at the international university Kyoto University of Foreign Studies (KUFS) for the summer semester 2026. All students who are enrolled on a Bachelor's, Master's or teaching degree programme in the summer semester 2026 are eligible to apply.

As the former capital of Japan, Kyoto impresses with its rich cultural history and is characterised by a rich variety of cultural influences that make it a young and vibrant university city. KUFS is located in the heart of the city, allowing students to explore Kyoto in all its facets while actively participating in university life.

Applications are possible until August 1^st, 2025!

Scholarship Programme of the Liberec Region

The Trilateral Scholarship Program is an international educational initiative aimed at promoting cooperation between the Czech Republic (TUL), Germany (Saxony), Poland (Lower Silesia), and global partners from Africa, Asia, and Latin America. The program is coordinated by the Liberec Region (KULK) and the Technical University of Liberec (TUL). Its goal is to explore global opportunities, identify collaboration potential in the field of innovation, and strengthen professional exchange in the trilateral border region.
